Education

Many educational opportunities are available for qualified physicians who would like to receive specialized training in the treatment of peripheral nerve injuries and disorders. The most comprehensive training is offered through the Peripheral Nerve Surgery Fellowship, which includes exposure to all aspects of peripheral nerve surgery including microsurgery with an extensive clinical experience.

Training in various components of peripheral nerve surgery is also offered through:

• The Neurosurgery Residency Program, the training program of the Washington University Department of Neurosurgery.
• The Plastic Surgery Residency Program and Hand Fellowship , programs run by the Washington University Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Peripheral Nerve Research Fellowships also are available to qualified applicants whose goals are to study peripheral nerve regeneration or other aspects of peripheral nerve injury, disorders and treatment.
