Ida K. Fox, MD, is an assistant professor in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She received her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine in Rochester, NY, and completed a combined plastic surgery residency at the University of Rochester. She completed a research fellowship in the peripheral nerve lab of Susan Mackinnon, MD, and a hand and microsurgery fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine.
Dr. Fox leads the program for nerve transfer to restore some hand function in motor level C6/C7 spinal cord injuries.
In addition to general plastic and hand surgery, Fox specializes in compression neuropathies such as carpal tunnel syndrome, cubital tunnel syndrome and others. She also treats patients with acute nerve injuries including nerve transection and brachial plexus injuries.
